Every year, the Chinese New Year celebration in Amsterdam is organised by YIP Group. In cooperation with YIP, Pyrofoor de Amsterdam is responsible for all pyro.

The Chinese New Year has been heralded on Dam Square in Amsterdam for a number of years now – complete with dragon dances, a lot of pyro and fireworks. The celebration was initiated by Won Yip of Yip Group, as his gift to the city of Amsterdam. In recent years, every celebration has been a unique show, created together with Pyrofoor de Amsterdam. And every year, the show gets bigger than the year before, with the spectacular, typically Chinese dragon dance and a fireworks display from the roof of the Krasnapolsky Hotel. The celebration starts at 6:45 p.m., which best fits the time it starts in Beijing.
